I am honored to join the research community at ICHARM/PWRI and the Disaster Management PhD program at GRIPS, where I will contribute to global water-related hazard and disaster risk reduction. As a researcher from Sri Lanka, my focus is on enhancing climate resilience and disaster preparedness through multidimensional disaster studies. I am eager to learn from Japan's extensive experience in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), particularly in water-related disaster management. My goal is to enhance my knowledge and skills to contribute to the establishment of a proactive disaster response system in my country, incorporating resilient infrastructure and a robust policy framework to mitigate the adverse impacts of hydro-meteorological disasters, thereby ensuring public safety and well-being.
